However, due to the shallow depth to water, conventional monitoring wells
must be installed at this site during the next phase of this investigation.
PHS/EHD recommends the installation of additional probe points as needed, until field observations
indicate the extent of the contamination has been identified. This would allow for the compilation and
submittal of a more accurate and complete report.
Please destroy the probe boreholes with a neat cement grout mixture.
PHS/EHD recommends the use of real ice to cool soil and groundwater samples.
PHS/EHD staff will perform site inspections to observe the work. Please provide at least 48 hour
advance notice prior to the initiation of work at the site. You may schedule the proposed work at this
site after a permit for the drilling is secured from this office. A permit application is enclosed.
If you have any questions or wish to discuss this letter in more detail, please contact Linda Turkatte,
Senior RENS, at (209) 468-3441.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Eniviro-nQm_ental Health Division
U -1 pG✓
Linda Turkatte, Senior REHS Diane M.
