KLEINFELDER
August 9, 198$ .
File: 24-2100-00 -
Mr. Keith Tallia
Oil Equipment Services• .
P.O. Box 950
San Andreas, CA .95249
SUBJECT: Soil Sample Analytical Results, Di'Salvo Truck Lines A,
Dear Mr. Tallia:
Enclosed are the analytical results for the soil`samples collected from Di Salvo Truck Lines
at 100 South Ventura Avenue, Stockton,. California (Plate 1). It is Kleinfelder's
understanding that one underground diesel tank was excavated and rem' oved, from, the site.
After consulting with Ms. Kasev Foley of.the San Joaquin County Lbcal`Health District, Oil`
Equipment Services requested)that two soil samples be collected from the bottom o£ the-
open excavation, one from each end of the tank.
On July 8, 1988, a Kleinfelder geologist collected two soil samples at a depth of
approximately 14 feet from the native soil within the excavation (Plate',2). 'Soil sample SS-
18496 and soil sample SS-184.97' were collected from. a gray, very' moist, sandy silt..
Oualitative field screening using afield photoionization detector resulted in readings of 560
and 131 parts per million by volume respectively.
The samples were delivered under chain-of-custody. to Chemwest Analytical Laboratories,
Inc., in Sacramento, and analyzed for:total petroleum hydrocarbons-(TPH) by GC/FID and
purgeable aromatic compounds (BTEX) by EPA Method 8020. Sample SS-18496 yielded a
TPH concentration of 1,200 mg/kg: diesel and was below reporting limits for. gasoline."
Sample SS-18497 yielded- a TPH concentration -of 310 mg/kg diesel and was below_ the
reporting limits for gasoline. The BTEX analysis for both samples was below the.
laboratory's reporting limits for all constituents. The analytical results.ffor the two analyses
are presented in Table 1. Laboratory data sheets and a chain-o£custody form are included'
at the end of this report.
Kleinfelder recommends a copy of this report be submitted to the San'Joaquin County
I Local Health District for.their review and approval. .
KLENFELDER 91-95 3usiness Park !)rive, Suite C Sacramento.
