(Clearwater), presents a <br /> workplan for additional site assessment at the City of Ripon Corporation Yard <br /> at 1210 Vera Avenue, Ripon, California. <br /> 1.1 Site Description <br /> The site is located on the southern outskirt of Ripon in an agricultural and <br /> residential area. The Stanislau River er mean ers 1n a southwesterly direction , <br /> r, approximately 2,000 feet south of the sit (Figure 1). Municipal water- <br /> treatment <br /> ater-treatment ponds are located approximately 1,000 feet south and east of the <br /> site. <br /> 000, <br /> 10 <br /> Two gallon underground storage t <br /> g g g (USTs) and, a fuel dispenser - <br /> were formerly present. at the location.. . Th site currently has" at least one . <br /> above-ground fuel tank. The.site layout, inc tiding former UST locations and <br /> : ,the approximate_location of the former fuel dispenser, are shown in Figure 2. <br /> 1.2..Previous Work = <br /> -- The two USTs were removed from the subje t location (by others) on May.23, , <br /> ..1990. . A,reviewof available.tank removal documents indicated that the tanks ` <br /> were used to store ..regular gasoline. and iesel_ fuel.. Soil :samples were.. <br /> collected from the bottom . of 'the UST Excavation during the- removal <br /> operations: One-soilsamP le contained TPH,as diesel: at a concentration of <br /> 9,800' parts per mullion._ (ppm). The soil samples did not .contain total i <br /> petroleum parts- <br /> as"gasolute, kerosene, or motor oil above the <br /> _respective method 'detection limits; in addition', none of the compounds . <br /> benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylene (BTEX)-or tetra-ethyl lead were _ <br /> detected above detectiori limits. <br /> - - k <br /> In early. 1995; Clearwater conducted a liini ed'. investigation of the site by <br /> _ installing = three groundwater monitoring wells. The results of the <br /> -investigation : are presented in Cle'arw ten's Soil and Groundwater <br />- Investigation Report 'dated-May 1', 1995: <br /> Three 2-inch-'diameter monitoring wells were installed to a depth of 30 feet <br /> below ground-surface (bgs)"on February 23, 1995.
