4) Place purge water in DOT drums and store on-site pending analytical results.
5) Transport water samples in chilled container under chain of custody to a state-
certified laboratory.
6) Analyze water samples for TPH as gasoline and BTE&X in accordance with EPA
methods 8015m and 602, respectively.
6.3 Air Sparging Pilot Test
- After the soil and groundwater sampling has beeT1 completed, an IAS pilot test will be
initiated. The duration of the Pilot Test will be approximately one (1) week. Soil vapor
samples will be collected from the sparging (injection) well, the recovery well and the
surrounding monitoring wells prior to initiation of the sparging test. Groundwater depths
in the sparging (injection) well and the surrounding wells will be measured during the test
to monitor potential mounding in,the area of the IAS system. The following procedures will
be performed for the IAS pilot test-
1) Collect soil vapor samples from monitoring wells MW-2, MW-6, MW-9 and the
nested sparging/recovery wells (MW-12A and MW-12B). Samples will be collected
f-: in Tedlar bags or vacuum canisters and transported under chain-of-custody to a state-
certified analytical laboratory.
2) Analyze soil vapor samples for TPH as gasoli ie and BTE&X in accordance with the
appropriate EPA methods.
3) Install a regenerative blower to MW-12A to be used to inject air into the aquifer.
The blower will supply air to the groundwater to strip volatile petroleum
hydrocarbons.
F 4) Install a second regenerative blower to MW-12B to be used as a recovery well. The
second blower will apply a vacuum and extract air with volatile hydrocarbons to be
discharged to the air.
d
5) Monitor air flow rates to the sparging well and from the extraction well.
6) Collect air samples from the extraction well. Samples will be analyzed for TPH as
gasoline and BTE&X in accordance with State of California "LUFT" Modified
`^ CARB Method 410A - Low L.eveI Aromatics in Air.
1 ,
7) Monitor depth-to-groundwater in the sparging well, extraction well and surrounding
wells.
8) Monitor pressure gradients in surrounding wells. A magnehelic pressure gauge will
X
C L.SL.l Audit S—L—.lee. 5
LW4N-9vL.MMF.m"u-B WPI
Y
