CIE
Lammersville School District
July 16, 1990 2021899-7004
5
1987 included installation of five mcnitoring wells, groundwater monitoring, and collection of soil and
groundwater samples which were analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes(STE\), and
total petroleum hydrocarbons-as-gasoline (TPH-G). No petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in the
analyzed soil samples, but dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons were found in groundwater samples
collected from all five monitoring wells, with TPH-G concentrations ranging from 32.5 parts per billion(ppb)
in MW-4 to 6,958 ppb in, II(Table 1). The wellhead elevations were surveyed to an arbitrary datum
of 100 feet. Monitoring data collected in June 1987 indicated a northeastward groundwater flow direction,
~ TABLE 1
LABORATORY ANALYSIS OF GROUNDWATER
(in ppb)
M- June 22, 1987
Well
1D Benzene Toluene Eth !benzene Xylenes-- '-- _..Y_ LPH-G
MW-1 664.0 493.8 296.8 1132.0
4923.0
MW-2 67.8 407.1 535.1 2693.0
6958.0
MW-3 4.5 4.8 2.5 20.7
200.9
MW-4 1.3 4.8 G 0.5 5.1
32.5
MW-5 4.9 5 3. 2.7 4.2
_.. 33.3
Another round of groundwater monitoring and sampling was conducted on November 12, 1987.
The water samples were analyzed for BTEX and TPH-G.
