Box 595 <br /> Linden, CA 95236 <br /> NOTICE OF VIOLATION <br /> LINDEN COUNTY WATER DISTRICT <br /> LINDEN, SAN JOA QUIN COUNTY <br /> A review of recent Linden County Water District self-monitoring reports has revealed violations of Waste <br /> Discharge Requirements (WDRs) Order No. 89-177. The violations are listed below: <br /> • In the May 2000 monitoring report the average monthly Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) <br /> concentration(66 mg/1) and the suspended solids concentration (75.5 mg/1) exceeded their <br /> respective concentration limits of 50 mg/l. The daily maximum suspended solids concentration for <br /> the 18 May sample event (96 mg/1) exceeded the permit limit of 90 mg/l. <br /> • The May 2000 monitoring report did not report freeboard in Pond No. 1 for the monitoring events <br /> performed 11 May, 18 May, and 25 May. Freeboard monitoring is required in all ponds on a <br /> weekly basis. <br /> • In the June 2000 monitoring report, the average monthly BOD concentration (85.4 mg/1) and the <br /> suspended solids concentration(73.9 mg/1) exceeded their respective concentration limits of 50 <br /> mg/l. The daily maximum BOD concentrations for the monitoring events performed on 15 June <br /> 2000 (104 mg/1) and 29 June 2000 (101 mg/1) exceeded the permit limit of 90 mg/l. <br /> • The June 2000 monitoring report did not report the settleable solids concentrations for the sample <br /> events performed on 22 June 2000 and 29 June 2000. Settleable solids monitoring is required on a <br /> weekly basis. <br /> • The June 2000 monitoring report did not report freeboard in Pond No. 1 for the monitoring events <br /> performed 8 June, 15 June, 22 June, and 29 June. Freeboard monitoring is required in all ponds on <br /> a weekly basis. <br /> Linden County Water District shall immediately comply with the monitoring requirements prescribed by <br /> the WDRs, and by 9 October 2000, the Linden County Water District shall submit a report, prepared by a <br /> California Licensed Civil Engineer, that describes procedures that will be implemented to improve the <br /> wastewater treatment system's performance.
