Box 595
Linden, CA 95236
INSPECTION REPORT, LINDEN COUNTY WATER DISTRICT WASTEWATER TREATMENT
PLANT, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
Enclosed is a report summarizing my 29 August 2000 inspection of your facility. In general, the
wastewater treatment plant was clean and well maintained. A site inspection photograph log is enclosed
with this letter.
The following observations were made during the site inspection:
• All wastewater is being discharged to a mechanically aerated treatment pond. The pond was
equipped with two aerators which were operating. No odor was noted in the vicinity of the pond.
The freeboard of all ponds at the site was acceptable (a minimum of 2 feet).
• The berms were in good condition during my inspection.
• The other onsite ponds which are not normally used for wastewater treatment/disposal were dry.
A soil stockpile was observed in the northern-most pond. You stated the soil would be used for
construction of the planned new evaporation/percolation ponds.
During our meeting you described plans to expand the wastewater treatment plant due to residential
development in the area. The plan to expand the treatment plant includes construction of evaporation/
treatment ponds to the west on what is now farm land. This change in the wastewater system requires
submittal of a Report of Waste Discharge and updating the existing Waste Discharge Requirements
(WDRs). The request for a RWD will be contained in a separate letter.
If you have any questions on this information, please telephone me at (916) 255-3116.
TIMOTHY R.
