The proposed development project includes:
1. A future 3-bedroom modular home and an existing 3-bedroom home with a total wastewater flow of
400 gallons per day (gpd) from the following usage. The wastewater flow of 400 gpd is not to be used
for septic system design or size calculation.
Wastewater flow of 200 gpd from the proposed 3-bedroom modular home.
Wastewater flow of 200 gpd from the existing 3 bedroom home.
Based on the information provided, the EHD can make the following findings:
The estimated nitrate loading from proposed development shows a potential for nitrate to impact groundwater
above water quality objectives. According to SSNL Study the estimated long-term impact of nitrate loading
from the proposed OWTS usage is 15.9 mg/L-N; above the water quality objective of 10 mg/L-N.
1. The SSNL Study supports the suitability for OWTS usage with the following conditions:
a. The potential impact of the nitrate to ground water shall be mitigated. OWTS shall utilize
supplemental treatment and meet performance requirements in Section 10.9 of Regional
Water Quality Control Board OWTS policy (Boards Policy).
b. A Registered Civil Engineer shall submit complete engineering design plans to EHD for
approval prior to issuance of building permit. Fee will be based on the current fee schedule at
time of payment.
c. Annual permit is required. Fee for annual operating permit is due at time of OWTS permit
application.
d. To monitor the effectiveness of the supplemental treatment system, quarterly sampling of the
effluent and under leach field is required. The first sampling shall be done six (6) months after
the OWTS installation. Sampling results shall be submitted to EHD for review. The EHD may
reduce the sampling frequency after one year of sampling.
1868 E. Hazelton Avenue I Stockton, California 95205 1 T 209 468-3420 1 F 209 464-0138 1 www.sjgov.org/ehd
