If not sure about the project, ask for additional details. <br /> 1.2 Review parcel viewer to get an idea of the existing buildings, ponds, facilities layout. <br /> 1.3 Review occupancy of new proposed buildings and determine if the occupancy load for the building <br /> is greater than the initial and maximum number of employees and visitors proposed to use the <br /> building. <br /> 1.4 Check parcel viewer for nearby surface water bodies. If within 2500 feet, need to check for surface <br /> water intake areas for water systems. <br /> 1.5 Determine if the facility is on the EHD database for any programs and note programs. Keep these <br /> in mind during the site visit. <br /> 1.6 Review existing well and septic permits. Review neighboring well and septic permits, if within 600 <br /> feet of property line. <br /> 2.0 SITE VISIT CHECK IN <br /> 2.1 Make an appointment to conduct the site visit.Ask for permission to inspect and take pictures. <br /> 2.2 Make sure any safety protocols implemented at the site are known and are being adhered to. <br /> 3.0 BUILDINGS AND PLUMBING FIXTURES <br /> 3.1 Review proposed building locations and identify any potential issues with existing structures or <br /> items at that location. <br /> 3.2 Review existing buildings (parcel viewer) and make sure proposed plot map shows all buildings. <br /> 3.3 Identify the existing use of each building and if there are any plumbing fixtures in the building: <br /> 3.3.1 Domestic wastewater: employee breakrooms, bathroom toilets, sinks, showers. <br /> 3.3.2 Other process wastewater: floor drains, shop sinks, lab sinks, equipment wash areas,tank <br /> cleanout,fruit or vegetable washing <br /> 3.4 Review <br /> 4.0 WASTEWATER GENERATED AND PROCESSES <br /> 4.1 Describe the location, number,type and use of all fixtures contributing wastewater to each OWTS <br /> at the site. <br /> 4.2 Describe the characteristics of the wastewater being generated for each activity or fixture type. <br /> Note if there is potential for high strength wastewater( Include N, BOD, ...(Page 56 EPA DM, Page <br /> 2 SWRCB General WDR, ) <br /> 4.3 Identify any processes or activities conducted at the site that may generate wastewater. <br /> 5.0 WATER WELLS <br /> 5.1 Identify all water wells on the site and take photographs. <br /> 5.2 Identify any issues with each well. <br /> 5.3 Identify the use of each water well and how often in service. <br /> 5.4 Compare findings to permits, submitted Water Usage Form. <br /> 5.5 Identify if a public water system and if any public water system within 3 miles of the project <br /> parcel. <br /> 5.6 Identify if any public wells are located within 600 feet of seepage pits or proposed seepage pits. <br /> 5.7 <br /> 6.0 SURFACE WATER <br /> 6.1 Identify all surface water bodies or canals within 1-mile of project. <br /> 6.2 <br /> 7.0 HAZARDOUS MATERIALS/WASTES <br /> 7.1 Identify any Aboveground Storage Tanks,drums,totes, cylinders, buckets or other containers of <br /> potential hazardous materials or wastes. <br /> 7.2 Identify any Underground Storage Tanks. <br /> EHD 26-02-002 Page 1 of 2 Nitrate Loading Study Checklist <br /> 7/14/2003 <br />
