SP-88-1, A REQUEST TO MODIFY WILCOX ROAD
SPECIFIC ROAD PLAN BY CALIFORNIA CEDAR PRODUCTS (C/O
JACK C. DOZIER) (DISTRICT 3 )
IT IS RECOMMENDED:
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve the Negative Declaration and direct the Clerk to file a
Notice of Determination; and
2 . Approve the amended SP-88-1 request to modify the Wilcox Road
Specific Plan by reducing the planned sidewalk widths from 10
feet to 7 feet along the east and west sides of the future
1400 ' Wilcox Road extension south of State Route 88 .
REASON FOR RECOMMENDATION:
The Planning Commission reviewed this item on April 21, 1988.
California Cedar Products, the applicant, requested a reduction in
sidewalk width from 10 feet to 4 feet along the east side of the
future Wilcox Road Extension south of State Route 88. In its review
of SP-88-1, the Department of Public Works concluded that although the
Wilcox Road Specific Plan requires a sidewalk width of 10 feet, a
reduction in width to 7 feet would be appropriate because 7 foot
sidewalks are standard for industrial streets.
Mr. Jack C. Dozier, representing the applicant, stated that he was
agreeable to the Department of Public Works recommendation. Mr. Joe
Budiselich, the owner of the property along the west side of Wilcox
Road, requested that the amended request be expanded to include a
reduction of sidewalk width to 7 feet along the west side of the
future Wilcox Road extension, as well. At the conclusion of the
public hearing the Planning Commisison voted 4-0 to make the recommen-
dation noted in this letter above. (Commissioners. Bozzano, Morri and
Gabbard were absent. ) The Planning Commission' s recommendation is
illustrated in the second of the two cross-section drawings attached
to this letter.
BOS LETTER PAGE 1
