Wastewater Streams
Sources of wastewater include dump flume wastewater, truck unloading, facility
process areas, and cooling towers. All wastewater is pumped to field disposal
sites after reaching a common stand-pipe mix point. Water from the bulk dump
area is screened and passed through a mud settling tank before reaching the
stand-pipe. Plant process water is screened and pumped through a Dissolved
Air Flotation (DAF) tank ahead of the stand-pipe. A second mud settling tank
and rt secDon ,,I7AF t;kowil] ;wke.instl l e. L_ls wastewater discharge volumes
increase.
Effluent sampling is done downstream from the stand-pipe.
