Page 1 of 2 Revised on 8/29/2017 Title: Service Technician II Position Specifics: Title: SERVICE TECHNICIAN II Department: Service Reports to: Service Manager Supervises: None FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Purpose:Performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager, Service Writer, Shop Foreman, or Senior Technicians. Responsibilities and Duties: o Assembles and services all types of equipment, established Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products, and other merchandise offered for sale by the dealership o Performs pre-delivery inspection on all types of equipment and other merchandise offered for sale by the dealership o Performs basic and complex diagnostics independently, solves basic and complex technical issues. o Operates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required in the set-up and delivery process o Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion o Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments o Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignments o Accounts for all time and material used in performing assigned duties o Participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge o Uses own tools o Participation on on-call program o Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion o Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments o Other duties as assigned Qualifications and Skills: o 2 – 7 years experience o Ability to operate vehicles, tools, and equipment used in machinery pre-delivery and set-up processes o Ability to assemble machinery components and to follow manufacturer’s pre-delivery instructions o Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions o Sound knowledge of engines, hydraulics, power-trans, air-conditioning, and electrical systems as they apply to machines marketed by the Dealership o Ability to lift at least 45 lbs. repeatedly o High School Diploma or equivalent experience required o Valid driver’s license required o Fork lift license preferred o Basic Service Technician certificate required Essential Job Functions: o Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 pounds o Repetitive hand use up to 7 hours a day o Walking or standing up to 7 hours a day o Sitting up to 4 hours a day o Squatting/kneeling up to 3 hours a day o Computer/keyboard work up to 2 hours in a day
