The facility is currently owned and <br /> operated by American Moulding and Millwork Company (AM&M) . <br /> In your July 21, 1989 letter you state t at little progress <br /> on this site investigation has taken place. UPC contends that <br /> this is not the case, and that both AFPC and AM&M have undertaken <br /> several site investigations since 1986. For your review, a <br /> chronological summary of site investigations prepared by Dames & <br /> Moore is presented as an attachment to this letter. <br /> In accordance with the Regional Board s guidelines for <br /> underground leaking tank fuel case investigations, the objective <br /> of the investigations conducted at the site have been focused on <br /> evaluating the nature and extent of soil and groundwater <br /> contamination resulting from the subsurface release of fuel from <br /> underground storage tank(s) . The most recent soil and groundwater <br /> investigation, conducted by Dames & Moore on oehalf of AFPC was <br /> performed in accordance with the requirement of your agency. <br /> Throughout our investigation Dames & Moore submitted work plans to <br /> your agency for comment and approval prior to initiating work (see <br /> attached chronology) . At no point during our investigation has <br /> your agency raised concerns that the direction or methodology of <br /> our investigation did not conform with youz established site <br /> investigation guidelines. <br /> OFFICES WORLDWIDE <br />
