a
). H. KLEINFELDER & ASSOCIIOES
3 SCOPE OF WORK
3.1 OBJECTIVE
The objective of this investigation is to evaluate possible contamination
1 at the following sites within the AM&M facility: (1) the penta solution
dip tank, (2) the septic tank leach field, (3) the open area east of Ray
Bond Building, (4) the open area north of the Millwork Building, (5) the
open space west of the saw filing room, (6) the drain sump northwest of
the 44 X 120 foot storage building, (7) the north storm pond and, (8) the
water supply well west of the employee parking lot.
' 3.2 APPROACH
We will collect thirteen soil samples from five boringi, take one sediment
sample, and collect three water samples, two from a pond and one from a
1 well. Samples will be chemically analyzed for the mosL likely contaminant
or contaminants. Table 1 lists the eight sites with a description of the
proposed investigation, sample location, and chemi al analysis to be
performed on each sample.
3.3 SOIL SAMPLING
To investigate possible contamination from the most likely contaminant(s)
1
depending on prior use, soil samples will be collected for chemical
analysis and lithologic logging. A site map showing actual sampling
locations will be prepared later in the field. Sample location will be
approximately as described in Table 1. Five borings are planned with
additional borings possible depending on condition noted in the field.
One sediment sample will also be collected.
46-87-282 4
