Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Dear Ms.Briggs:
Our Company, American Moulding and Millwork, has retained
as consultants, Kleinfelder Inc. , to do a land survey for
our property located at 2801 West Lane, Stockton. During
their research, they discovered some old documents that
indicated the possibility of an underground gasoline tank.
When given this information by Kleinfelder, we immediately
contacted the county for instructions. We were told to pay
back fees for the tank and obtain a permit for tank removal,
which we did.
We then contracted with Stockton Service Station Equipment
for removal of the tank. This removal was scheduled for
November 9, 1992.
On November 9, Stockton Service Station Equipment dug
several trenches in a crisscross fashion, five feet in
depth, in the area where the map indicated the tank was
located. They found no tank.
lac;k of diocovery cf a tusk, one of our larigtime
maintenance employees called a previous longtime maintenance
supervisor to inquire about the tank. He was told by the
former supervisor the tank had been removed under his own
direction in 1979. We have no documentation confirming
this.
Per instructions from Ms. Carol Oz, of the County Health
Services, we are attempting to acquire a written statement
from the former maintenance supervisor verifying the tank
removal.
P.O.
