Advance eight soil borings on-site to define the lateral and vertical extent of 1-2 DCA groundwater
contamination.
1' Collect depth discrete grab groundwater samples;limiting cross contamination according to standard
operating procedures of CPT hydro-punch technology. D2\1W-2 is screened from 60 to 80 feet below
surface grade. Therefore,in order to define the V_rtical extent of groundwater contamination,-a discrete
sample must be.taken in a permeable zone below 80 feet.
3. Sample depths will be based on preferential pathways not set depths of 40 and 55 feet below surface grade.
More than two samples per boring may be needed.
4. Grab groundwater samples will be analyzed by EPA method 8260B. Report-A peaks shown by this
analysis.
COMMENTS AND CONDITIONS:
1. The statement on the cover page of the above referenced report that once the 1-2 DCA plume is defined,
closure will be granted,is false. The responsible party may need monitoring wells to show the 1-2 DCA
plume is stable and decreasing in concentration over time.
2. A well permit application is needed-along with the standard$89 fee for wells and soil borings in San
Joaquin County. One application and fee per parcel per'contractor.
3. Notify PHS/EHD at least 48 hours prior to the proposed scheduled work dates.
DATED y
Sam Sa.vig EHS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV
Cc: CVRWQC]3—Marty Hartzell
URS Corporation-Jack Kemp
American Molding and Millwork-Bernic Sloop
