3.0 Results and Discussion
This section presents a discussion of the March 1999 quarterly groundwater monitoring
event conducted at the Site on March 18, 1999
The laboratory report provided by Quanterra was reviewed by Dames & Moore's data
validation group in order to insure that the reported data results are accurate Results of the
Dames & Moore QA/QC are included in Appendix B All data were determined to be
acceptable for use
3.1 Groundwater Levels
Groundwater was measured to be approximately 36 feet below ground surface on March
18, 1999 The direction of groundwater flow in March 1999 was towards the northeast, as
illustrated in Figure 3
3.2 TPH-D in Groundwater
TPH-D groundwater results for samples collected on March 18, 1999 have been compiled
with previous data in Table 3 TPH-D was not reported in any samples
TPH as a hydrocarbon mixture not matching the fresh diesel standard was reported for
samples MW-6 (380 ug/L) and its duplicate MW-Q (340 ug/L), collected from DMW-6 on
March 18, 1999 TPH was also reported at a concentration of 82 ug/L in the sample
' collected at DMW-7
The unknown hydrocarbon was reported to represent TPH as a hydrocarbon mixture in the
range of n-C10 to n-C40, which did not match the diesel fuel reference Review of
' chromatograms suggests that the unknown hydrocarbon appears to be a degraded diesel
with an additional heavier weight hydrocarbon component
4.0 Future Activities
Additional groundwater samples will be collected and analyzed for TPH-D during 1999, as
' required by the PHS/EHD The remaining two sampling events are tentatively scheduled
for June and September 1999 Quarterly reports will be issued following each sampling
event
DAMES&MOORE 3 G 1WORDPROCZsaclafp19904 01 DOC
