TECHNICAL EVALUATION <br /> FORMER AFPC STOCKTON FACILITY <br /> STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br /> 1 0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This Technical Evaluation has beenY <br /> re ared b Dames & Moore for American Forest <br /> P P <br /> Products Company (AFPC) and presents a technical evaluation of soil remedial options at the former <br /> AFPC facility (Site) located at 2801 West Lane in Stockton, California This additional work has <br /> been conducted in response to comments from the San Joaquin County Public Health Services- <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) on the Draft Amended Closure Request (Dames & <br /> Moore, 1994a) for the Site <br /> 11 PURPOSE <br /> The purpose of this document is to address PHS-EHD's comments as expressed in their <br /> August 29, 1994 review of the Draft Amended Closure Request (Dames & Moore, 1994b) pertaining <br /> to the technical and economic feasibility of remediating site soils to background total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbon (TPH) concentrations This document contains a technical and economic evaluation of <br /> potential remedial options, expanding Dames & Moore's 1988 feasibility study in terms of current <br /> available technologies and costs The 1988 feasibility study from that earlier document is included <br /> in Appendix A for reference Current cost estimates for the remedial alternatives developed in this <br /> report are presented in Appendix B <br /> I <br /> 1 2 REPORT ORGANIZATION <br /> This report consists of two mayor parts The first portion consists of introductory information <br /> presenting the purpose, organization, a summary of background information, and the scope of the <br /> report in Sections 1 through 4 The second portion consists of the development and evaluation of <br /> remedial options presented in Sections S and 6 and the conclusions presented in Section 7 <br /> SAC127 10 1 <br /> I <br /> DAMES &MOORE <br />
