• Communicator <br /> The role of the commumcator is to maintain contact with appropriate <br /> emergency services, providing as much information as possible, such as the <br /> number inured, the type and extent of injuries, and the exact location of the <br /> accident scene The communicator should be located as close to the scene as <br /> possible in order to transmit to the emergency care providers any additional <br /> instructions that may be given by emergency services personnel in route <br /> • Site Supervisor <br /> tThe site supervisor (usually the SSO) should survey and assess existing and <br /> potential hazards, evacuate personnel as needed, and contain the hazard <br /> Follow up responsibilities include replacing or repairing damaged equipment, <br /> documenting the incident, and notifying appropriate personnel/agencies <br /> described under incident reporting It also includes reviewing and revising site <br /> safety and contingency plans as necessary <br /> In the event of an emergency, follow the procedure outlined in Figure 12-1 <br /> Notify site personnel of the situation Survey the scene to determine if the <br /> situation is safe, to determine what happened, and to search for other victims The <br /> Emergency Response Checklist can be used to help remember the things to do in <br /> an emergency <br /> 1 <br /> t <br /> 1 <br /> 1 <br /> 1 <br /> 1 <br /> AMFOREST 21 7 35 <br />
