Telephone-(916)387-8800 <br /> Fax-(916)387-0802 <br /> TO: Jack Kemp INFO. <br /> FROM: Sacramento QA/QC Group FILE: 15884-019-044 <br /> DATE- December 21, 2000 SITE- American Forest Products <br /> SUBJECT: Summary of Data Validation for Entech Project 23256 <br /> This report summarizes the findings of the Completeness Check for Entech Project 23256 This includes <br /> eight water samples DMW-1, DMW-2, DMW-3, DMW-4, DMW-5, DMW-6, DMW-7, and DMW-70 <br /> Samples DMW-7 and DMW-70 represent a field duplicate pair The samples were collected Novembet <br /> 15, 2000, as part of the American Forest Products Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring project and were <br /> analyzed for TPH-diesel (EPA 8015m), oxygenates and 1,2-dichloroethane(EPA 8260B), and ethanol and <br /> methanol (EPA 8015B) at Entech Analytical Labs in Santa Clara, California The laboratory report was <br /> received on December 19, 2000 <br /> The data were reviewed in accordance with analytical methods outlined in EPA SW-846 The data were <br /> evaluated based on the following parameters <br /> ✓ Data Completeness <br /> ✓ Holding Times and Preservation <br /> ✓ Blanks <br /> ✓ System Monitoring Compounds (Surrogates) <br /> ✓ Laboratory Control Samples <br /> ✓ Matrix Spike/Matrix Spike Duplicates <br /> ✓ Field Duplicates <br /> ✓ Compound Identification and Quantification <br /> The following presents an overview of the Completeness Check <br /> • All analyses were performed as per the chain-of-custody records and all holding times were met <br /> • All associated method blanks were free of contamination <br /> • All surrogate recoveries were within laboratory acceptance limits <br /> • All LCS recoveries were with laboratory acceptance limits <br /> • There were no significant differences between the field duplicate pair, DMW-7 and DMW-70 <br /> • Sample DMW-7D was utilized for the ethanol/methanol MS/MSD analyses All percent <br /> recoveries and relative percent differences were within laboratory acceptance limits No <br /> assessment of matrix effects can be made for the other analyses since an MSIMSD was not <br /> reported with this data set <br /> • The peaks present in samples DMW-1, DMW-3, DMW-4, DMW-5, DMW-7, and DMW-70 do <br /> not match the diesel standard chromatogram Consequently, the results have been reported as <br /> atypical of TPH-diesel However, the peak patterns in samples DMW-7 and DMW-70 may <br /> represent weathered diesel <br /> A ISacval08 834 <br />
