CHRONOLOGY
M&K MARKET/BARNYARD CORP.
8960 W. WALN'tiT GROVE ROAD
LOP SITE CODE: 1752
CVWA'QCB CASE # 390193
APN: 00115029
12-09-96 A pre-UST removal assessment identified soil and ground water
contamination: TPH-gasoline, TPH-diesel, BTEX, and fuel oxygenates.
Unauthorized Release Report and Prop-65 filed and additional site
assessment was required.
01-03-97 Site placed into LOP and a Notice of Responsibility was sent to RPs.
Additional assessment was required to determine the vertical and lateral
extent of soil and ground`nater contamination. USTs have current
precision tests that indicate systems are tight.
01-21-99 3 USTs removed under EHD permit and inspection. Results of soil and
ground water samples obtained from beneath the USTs confirmed the
presence of contamination found in 1996.
02-10-99 Date of the UST removal report prepared by Geotechnical Research and
Development that contained soil and ground water analytical results.
07-28-99 The third soil and ground water investigation initiated.
07-30-99 Completion of the third soil and groundwater investigation; 9 borings by
hand auger or direct push were placed in and around the former UST
location. Total depth was from 10 to 25 ft. bgs. Soil and ground water
samples were collected for analyses.
02-15-00 Completion date of an Interim Corrective Action WP prepared by Ground
Zero Analysis. EHD approved work on 2-16-00.
03-07-00 Soil excavation to 15 ft. bgs be=an in former UST area. Approximately
3700 cubic yards of soil were removed. Soil samples were collected from
the excavation and the stockpile for analyses. Approximately 60,000
gallons of contaminated water were pumped from the final excavation and
removed off site for proper disposal. Clean soil was used to backfill the
excavation.
12-29-00 Completion date of Ground Zero's Interim Soil and Ground Water
Corrective Action Summary Report. The report contained analytical
results for samples collected in March 2000. Ground Zero recommended
4 MWs be installed and sampled. EHD approved the work proposed.
