One soil sample per boring will be collected for laboratory analysis. The sample location will'
be selected based upon field evidence of contamin tion, if present. If no contamination is'l
encountered, the sample will be collected from the capillary fringe. if groundwater is'
encountered, at least one groundwater sample will be collected beneath the site. Subsequent to'I
sample collection, each boring will be backfilled wit neat cement to the surface. Soil cuttings i
generated during augering/sampling will be placed in a DOT approved drum and remain on site
pending determination of disposal method.
All field activities will be performed in acc rdance with Ground Zero's Quality`!
Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Field Procedures Protocol (attached) which will be
available to all field personnel. Ground Zero will cc ntact Underground Services Alert at least;!
48 hours before drilling to identify public utility line at the site.
Soil and groundwater samples will be transported to Argon Labs (FLAP #1873) in Modesto,
California for analysis of benzene, toluene, ethylbenz ne, xylenes (BTEX) and methyl tert butyl
ether (MTBE) using EPA method 8020, and total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHG)
or diesel (TPHD) using EPA method 8015/modified. I
I
The data collected during the investigation will be sufr marized in a brief report. The report will
include field methods, observations, results of labora ory analyses, and conclusions.
I'
For your convenience, enclosed is a completed soil boring permit application and a check for
the associated fee.
