h <br /> Mr. Harlin Knoll <br /> February 15, 2000 <br /> Page 4 of 4 <br /> excavation with clean imported and native fill. <br /> Since groundwater is anticipated in the excavation pit, ound Zero proposes to pump up to 40,000 <br /> gallons of groundwater from the excavation pit to de ter the excavation during digging and to <br /> remove a significant volume of contaminated groundwater. The groundwater will temporarily be :I <br /> stored on site in 21,000 gallon portable liquid storage tanks. Samples will be collected from the <br /> storage tanks to profile dissolved contaminants in the groundwater. Analytical results will be <br /> submitted to Sacramento County Regional Waste Water reatment Plant for acceptance of the water <br /> for disposal. Upon acceptance, the groundwater will be transported by tanker truck to the <br /> Sacramento County Regional Waste Water Treatment Plant, which is located approximately 20 <br /> miles north of the site in Elk Grove. <br /> Fieldwork will be conducted in accordance with the site-specific Health and Safety Plan and Quality <br /> Control/Quality Assurance Plan on file with PHS/EHD. <br /> Following the completion of all field work, a technical report will be submitted detailing the <br /> methodology and results of the remedial actions. <br /> 5.0 SCHEDULE <br /> It is anticipated that excavation and groundwater pumping can be completed within two weeks <br /> following approval of the Workplan. Soil profiling and spreading for aeration can be completed <br /> within two to three weeks after excavation and sampling has been completed. As time is of the <br /> essence, Mr. Manser would like to begin excavation activities as early as the week of February <br /> 22, 2000.
