Kennedy/Jenks/Chilton
Attachment A to Kennedy/Jenks/Chilton's
letter to Mr. Ron Valinoti
dated 13 October 1989
distributor will accept the Ordram 8-E, however, a distributor for the
Silvisar was not found. Because the Alpha-Tox containers appear to be
corroded, it has not been possible to locate a pesticide applicator
willing to accept this material . The Alfa-Tox will have to be disposed
of at a Class I waste facility.
PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK
A plan for remediating the Cal -Farm Stockton Facility is described below.
The scope of work described below is divided into eight tasks related to
the different areas of concern. Tasks have been defined to include
remediation where warranted and closure of the site.
Underground Storage Tank
Task I - Development of Plans and Specifications and Contractor
Negotiations
It is our understanding that the 2,000 gallon underground fuel storage
tank will be removed to bring Cal -Farm Supply's Stockton Facility into
compliance with California Health and Safety Code Division 20 Chapter 6.7
Section 25299(3) regarding permitting of underground fuel storage tanks.
Kennedy/Jenks/Chilton will prepare plans and specifications to enable the
Cal -Farm Trust to obtain competitive bids from a tank removal contractor.
The tank removal contractor will be employed directly by Cal -Farm Supply
and Kennedy/Jenks/Chilton will provide contractor surveillance as
described below under Task 2.
Bids will be obtained from three contractors for performing the tank
removal work. The bids will include costs for tank removal , disposal ,
soil excavation around the immediate vicinity of the tank, additional
soil excavation if warranted, and stock piling of the soils. It is
proposed that the contaminated soil which is removed during the tank
excavation will be stock piled and aerated on site.
The removal of the two storage trailers described in Task 5 below will be
performed by the tank removal contractor as a cost savings effort.
Task 2 Tank Removal Surveillance
Kennedy/Jenks/Chilton will arrange to be on site at the time the tank is
scheduled to be removed. We will coordinate with the tank removal
contractor to obtain soil samples from beneath the tank and the tank
WPNMLI:STOCKTON.WP2 A - 2
