Thank you for considering IT's proposal dated December 13, 1996
as a draft workplan and for your comments to the draft workplan, as outlined in your letter of
January 22, 1997.
In response to your comments, IT has made the following revisions and improvements to the
workplan document:
Scone of Work (Section 2.0)
Reference to the facility within the Port of Stockton has been changed to "next to" the Port. To
further complete the workplan, a site description (Section 1.1) and a discussion of the project
history (Section 1.2) have been added.
Geoprobe Groundwater Survey (Section 2.1.2)
1. IT understands that the RWQCB is overseeing investigations at two other sites adjacent
to the Cal Farm Supply site. During the geoprobe survey, IT will monitor the five
existing wells at the Cal Farm Supply site so that an updated groundwater flow direction
and gradient can be determined and incorporated into the "regional" data interpretation.
Following the geoprobe survey, IT proposes to install four additional groundwater
monitoring wells at the site. Given current schedule assumptions, the new wells should
be ready for initial sampling during the month of April 1997. At that time, IT would
sample all nine Cal Farm Supply wells. This might coincide with the scheduled sampling
at the Koppel site. Sampling of the five existing Cal Farm Supply wells during the
geoprobe survey would not fit well into the quarterly pattern of planned sampling.
Furthermore, the additional sampling is not accounted for in IT's contract with the
bankruptcy court trustee.
R co=,at=a a wholly Own admv ary ot lnre awnal technology cammahon
