"1 Kennedy/Jenks Consultants <br /> 112 <br /> .4 Engineers and Scientists <br /> 3336 Bradshaw Road Suite 140 <br /> Sacramento,California 95627 <br /> 7 January 1994 916 362 3251 <br /> FAX 916 362 9915 <br /> Ms Diane M Hinson, REHS <br /> Public Health Services <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division <br /> P 0 Box 2009 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 <br /> Subject Groundwater Sampling Results - Fourth Quarter 1993 <br /> Cal-Farm Supply - Stockton Facility <br /> KIJ 922540 00 <br /> Dear Ms Hinson <br /> This letter transmits the results of the groundwater sampling event performed at the Cal-Farm <br /> Supply - Stockton Facility in the fourth quarter of 1993 This sampling event was conducted <br /> in accordance with our sampling plan approved by you in your undated letter received in our <br /> office on 15 November 1993 <br /> 9 DECEMBER 1993 GROUNDWATER SAMPLING EVENT <br /> On 9 December 1993, groundwater samples were collected from monitoring well MW-1 by a <br /> Kennedy/Jenks Consultants geologist Prior to sampling, groundwater elevations were <br /> measured and recorded for each onsite monitoring well, with the exception of monitoring well <br /> MW-2 Monitoring well MW-2 was obscured by a large amount of vegetative debris The <br /> current lessee of the warehouse facility at the site was present during the sampling event and <br /> stated that the debris would be moved prior to future sampling events <br /> The groundwater flow direction was calculated in the field based on the elevation <br /> measurements collected from wells MW-1, MW-3 and MW-4 At the time of this sampling <br /> event, groundwater flow was to the east-northeast The groundwater flow direction had <br /> shifted from the westerly direction calculated during the 30 August 1993 sampling event <br /> Because the groundwater flow direction was to the east-northeast, groundwater samples were <br /> not collected from wells MW-2, MW-3 or MW-4, located upgradient of well MW-1, or from <br /> well MW-5 located cross-gradient from well MW-1 Table 1 presents current and historical <br /> groundwater elevation data <br /> Prior to sampling well MW-1, the well was purged using a Teflon bailer During purging, the <br /> pH, temperature, conductivity and volume of water purged from the well was monitored and <br /> recorded This information is included in the attached Groundwater Purge and Sample Forms <br /> The purge water was collected in the 55-gallon drum at the site One original and one <br /> duplicate groundwater sample were collected from MW-1 using a disposable bailer The <br /> collected groundwater samples were transported in a chilled ice-chest with a Chain-of-Custody <br /> form to Anlab Analytical Laboratory in Sacramento, California The samples were analyzed for <br /> the presence of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as both gasoline (TPH-G) and diesel fuel (TPH-D) <br /> using modified EPA Method 8015 <br /> i <br /> r <br />
