All vials and the one-liter bottles were filled to
capacity to prevent air bubbles from forming when the containers and vials wee
covered.
1
1 As part of the Quality Assurance/Quality Control Program, a travel blank, a
field blank, and a field duplicate were also collected. The travel blank
consisted of three 40-m1 amber glass vials filled with boiled millipore water
prepared in the Kennedy/Jenks/Chilton laboratory. The travel blanks were
placed in the ice chest containing the BXTE samples. A field blank was
handled in a similar manner as the groundwater samples collected from the
monitoring wells except that boiled millipore water was used instead of
monitoring well water. A field duplicate was collected from monitoring well
MW-1 to provide a field replicate.
After collection, each sample was labeled to contain a discrete sample number,
date, time of collection, collector, and other pertinent information All
groundwater samples, field blank, field duplicate, and travel blank were
placed in a cooled ice chest for preservation purposes A chain-of-custody
form was completed and included with the samples during transport to the
Kennedy/Jenks/Chilton Laboratory Division in San Francisco, California for
analysis.
t
t
._1
i
I
