The containers <br /> were: <br /> 1.A black hazardous waste toxic container, storing leaky bottles of liquid laundry fabric softener and detergent,was <br /> missing the physical state and accumulation start date.This container was also labeled "Empty 2/14/2020." Nate <br /> Stephan,the store manager, removed the"Empty 2/14/2020"label, and marked the drum with liquid as the <br /> physical state, and an accumulation start date of 6/13/2020, per the information on the Toxic Hazardous Waste <br /> Log posted nearby. <br /> 2.A blue hazardous waste oxidizer container, storing leaky bottles of liquid laundry fabric softener and detergent, <br /> was missing the physical state, accumulation start date, and was labeled with an inaccurate hazardous property- <br /> oxidizer. This container was also labeled "Empty 2-14-2020."According to a nearby poster,fabric softener and <br /> detergent is classified as"California Toxic Non-RCRA"hazardous waste. Nate removed the bottles of fabric <br /> softener and detergent from the blue hazardous waste oxidizer container and placed them into the black hazardous <br /> waste toxic container, mentioned above. <br /> 3.A blue hazardous waste corrosive acidic container, storing bottles of liquid laundry fabric softener and powder <br /> detergent,was missing the accumulation start date, and was labeled with an inaccurate hazardous property- <br /> corrosive acidic.This container was also labeled"Empty 2-14-2020." Nate removed the bottles of fabric softener <br /> and detergent from the blue hazardous waste corrosive acidic container and placed them into the black hazardous <br /> waste toxic container, mentioned above. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information: the <br /> words"Hazardous Waste", name and address of generator, hazardous properties, physical state, composition <br /> (contents), accumulation start date <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: The violation was corrected during the inspection by Nate Stephan,the store manager, <br /> as explained above. No further action is required to correct this violation. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> Overall Inspection Comments: <br /> Complete and submit a copy of the Return to Compliance Certification form to the EHD with a statement <br /> documenting the corrective actions that have been or will be taken for each violation, and any supporting <br /> paperwork, by 7/19/2020. <br /> To minimize person to person contact EHD is choosing to write the name of person receiving the report instead <br /> of having them sign. Starting September 1, 2018, all in-office CERS help will be provided at EHD hourly rate <br /> ($152).
