THRIFTY OIL CC3 . <br /> March 29, 1999 0,9290 <br /> Mr Michael J Infurna Jr , <br /> ' Senior REHS <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services - "PHS-EHD" <br /> Site Mitigation Unit IV /LOP <br /> ' 304 E Weber St , fifth floor <br /> Stockton, California 95202 <br /> ' Subject Summary of site inspection held on March 17, 1999 <br /> RE Thrifty Oil Co Station #171 <br /> 1250 N Wilson Way <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Mr Infurria <br /> This letter is to confirm the items discussed during your site inspection and meeting with Mr Jeff <br /> Suryakusuma of our office at the above-referenced site on March 17, 1999 Previously on March <br /> 2, 1999, you sent us a fax identifying several unknown 24-inch diameter traffic boxes onsite that are <br /> concern items in regards to adequate sealing against surface water (or other liquid) infiltration <br /> During the March 17, 1999, Mr Suryakusuma and yourself identified these six traffic boxes and <br /> concluded that the existing map that was used does not depict the correct locations of the wells <br /> and/or well boxes onsite Upon individual inspections of the six traffic boxes (numbered#1 through <br /> #6 in your fax dated 03/02/99) and other wells, the following are concluded <br />' 1 Box #1 appeared to be a conductor casco with evidence of sod boring most liken TDD-5 <br /> PP g g � Y ) <br />' Since the boring's backfill has subsided several feet, it was agreed that this box will be <br /> abandoned by taking about one foot of the top materials, backfill a few inches with gravel, then <br /> capping it with concrete, flush to the surrounding concrete Since this box is installed within the <br />' UST slab, it is agreed that the wellbox ring can be left in place to protect the integrity of the slab <br /> 2 Box 42 is a 12 diameter PVC SCH 40 conductor casing It is agreed that the annular space <br /> between the conductor casing and the box's skit will be capped with cement/concrete to prevent <br />' surface liquid infiltration Also, the conductor casing will be capped/plugged/ sealed against <br /> Iiquid entering the casing <br /> 3 Box #3 is apparently used for bonng TB-5 This box is to be backfilled and resurfaced with <br /> concrete to flush with the surrounding concrete Since this box is installed within the dispenser <br /> island's slab, it is agreed that the wellbox ring can be left in place <br />' 4 Box#4 is an empty well box with only a 2" lateral piping for future extraction well for the soil <br /> remediation system on the side of the well box It is agreed that this future pipe will be extended <br />' 13539 E Foster Rd , Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670-0138•(562)923-9876 <br />
