nEAkTHCON'
physical damage or stress. There are no recommended corrective actions regarding the
associated piping at this time. The piping associated with the hazardous waste tank system
should continue to be periodically inspected by Site personnel for leaks and/or damage and
repaired as necessary.
• The ancillary equipment associated with the hazardous waste tank system is compliant with
the regulations identified in 22 CCR 66265. The piping that conveys used oils and
antifreeze from open funnels to each respective waste tank act as atmospheric vents and
prevent the development of vacuum or pressure within the tanks. Alarmed tank level
gauges are not present on the tanks to aid in preventing overfilling the tanks and potential
overflow conditions. However, based on the translucency of the polyethylene tanks, and use
of visual inspections and a dipstick, documented daily visual inspections are a sufficient
alternative to needing an alarmed tank level gauge. The used oil Customer Drop Off tank is
equipped with a level gauge and overfill shut-off. There are no recommended corrective
actions regarding associated ancillary equipment for the hazardous waste tank system at
this time.
• Care should continue to be taken to ensure hazardous materials within the Drain Building
are prevented from leaving the area surrounding the Drain Building and entering the
stormwater drain inlets. Preventive measures are in place to prevent hazardous materials
from entering the storm drain system. Such measures include implementation of drain
protection, housekeeping, and conducting daily inspections to address any concerns in
accordance with Site's Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan.
Findings from the Hazardous Waste Tank System Assessment, evaluated against the requirements
identified in 22 CCR Section 66265, are summarized in Table 4.
Hazardous Waste Tank Assessment Stockton,CA
Schnitzer Steel—Pick-n-Pull 10 Project No.04.20160002
