4.6 WATER RESOURCES
Mitigation
4.6-7 Erosion and sedimentation impacts from the project site are expected to be confined
predominantly to the construction phase of the project. Construction related erosion and
sedimentation may be mitigated by the implementation of the following measures:
• The project grading plan should include an approved drainage and
erosion control plan to minimize the impacts from erosion and
sedimentation during grading. This plan should conform to all standards
adopted by San Joaquin County. This plan should include procedures
such as: (a) restricting grading to the dry season; (b) protecting all
finished graded slopes from erosion using such techniques as hillslope
benching, erosion control matting, hydroseeding; (c) protecting
downstream storm drainage inlets from sedimentation; and, (d) use of
silt fencing to retain sediment on the project site.
• After construction is completed all drainage culverts should be inspected
for accumulated sediment. If sediment accumulation has occurred, these
drainage structures should be cleared of debris and sediment.
4.6-23
