Sullivan, <br /> The Conservancy has received from you the following documents : <br /> ( 1 ) Buckeye Ranch Planned District Description <br /> (2 ) Notice of Completion/ Appendix F <br /> ( 3 ) Initial Study/Discussion of Environmental Impact <br /> ( 4 ) Notice of EIR Preparation <br /> At various places in these documents , The Nature Conservancy is <br /> mentioned in connection with the possibility of a Conservation <br /> Easement being placed on the subject property. References are <br /> made to "discussions in process" with the Conservancy and similar <br /> phrases indicating an ongoing development of an easement <br /> document . A draft easement in the name of The Nature Conservancy <br /> is included in the Planned Project Description. <br /> It is the express policy of The Nature Conservancy not to become <br /> involved in the regulatory approval process , or to give even an <br /> appearance that we support any given development proposal . We <br /> offer no opinion as to whether the County should approve this <br /> project . <br /> The- extent of the Conservancy' s involvement in this project has <br /> been to offer some very preliminary management ideas to the <br /> landowners at their request , and to recommend to them a highly- <br /> regarded independent forester (Pam Muick) who has carried out an <br /> ecological study of the property. <br /> With respect to the various references to The Nature Conservancy <br /> in the documents we have received from you, we believed we had <br /> conveyed to the applicant our desire not to have the <br /> Conservancy' s name mentioned in connection with a Conservation <br /> Easement .
