7.0 SUMMARY <br /> Nine prehistoric sites were recorded or rerecorded during the current investigation. Careful site <br /> boundary delineations provided crucial information for developing project modifications which <br /> will result in avoidance of damage to these cultural resources. It should, however, be qualified <br /> that previously unidentified subsurface archaeological deposits may possibly be encountered <br /> during ground disturbing activities. Prehistoric archaeological materials which could be <br /> encountered include, but are not limited to: obsidian or chert flakes or tools; ground stone <br /> mortars,slabs or pestles; deposits of shell or dietary bone; locally darkened midden soils; and <br /> human interments. If such deposits are discovered, it is recommended that work at the location <br /> of any find cease, and a qualified cultural resources professional be contacted immediately to <br /> examine and evaluate the discovery. <br /> 37 <br />
