Artifacts: No formal artifacts were observed. <br /> 14. Non-Artifactual Constituents and Faunal Remains: Sparse fragments of fresh water <br /> mussel shell can be observed on the surface. A shovel test through 1/8" screen revealed <br /> medium size mammal bone, bird bone, fish bone, and small obsidian pressure flakes. <br /> During a field visit by John Beck and Sacramento State University students in 1971, 14 <br /> baked clay fragments, 1 obsidian flake, and a thermally fractured stream cobble fragment <br /> were collected. <br /> 15. Date Recorded: 9/15/92 16. Recorded by: D. Livingstone, J. Edwards, J. Lopez-Cabal, <br /> and K.J. Tremaine. <br /> 17. Vegetation Community (site vicinity): Oak buckeye savannah. <br /> 22. Vegetation (on site): Live oaks, introduced grasses, star thistle, yellow mustard, and <br /> mullen. Ground visibility was obscured by a dense cover of dry grass. <br /> 23. Site Soil: Medium brown friable, very slightly greasy silty clay, with few rock inclusion. <br /> (Soil samples # 41-49) <br /> 24. Surrounding Soil: Light brown compact clay. <br /> 25.
