special-status wildlife species that have potential to occur at the site cannot be
adequately surveyed because of their seasonal occurrences. For these species,
Jones & Stokes Associates will evaluate the potential for occurrence of the
species based on the habitat types at the site, and additional surveys will be
recommended for any species that cannot be adequately surveyed.
■ Describe, classify, and map all terrestrial vegetation types in the project area.
Include a list of all plant species reported and observed on the site as an
appendix to the EIR.
■ Compile a list of birds, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, and mammals
observed during field surveys and describe the habitat types in which each species
occurs.
■ Map the locations of all specific occurrences of any special-status species
observed or reported in the project area.
■ Identify the cumulative area of concern for each separate biological issue area.
In the "Impacts" section, the following tasks will be completed:
■ quantify the acreage of each vegetation or habitat type to be lost, degraded, or
created;
■ identify project impacts on special-status plants or wildlife;
■ identify direct impacts on vegetation sources;
■ describe and evaluate direct impacts on wildlife resources in the project area in
the context of local and regional wildlife populations;
■ assess potential indirect impacts on wildlife resources outside the project area;
and
• evaluate the potential cumulative impacts on vegetation and wildlife, particularly
the loss of riparian and oak woodland habitats in San Joaquin County.
Mitigation measures will be recommended for all significant impacts. Mitigation
measures will be described with monitoring recommendations and criteria for judging
success. Complex mitigation measures will be outlined in enough detail to identify
additional mitigation plans.
III-16
