Viand Utilization Alliance
..................• P. O.Box 1259 • Stockton,CA 95201 • (209)467-7554 • Fax: (209)467-7553
1 believe in beauty•. I believe in stones and water, and soil, People and their future. -Ansel Adams
July 9, 1993
9 1993
J U L
PLANNING DIVISION
Kerry Sullivan
San Joaquin Community Development
Development Services Division
1810 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205
RE: Williamson Act Contract Cancellation and proposed project for Buckeye Ranch
Land Utilization Alliance is opposed to cancellation of the Williamson Act
Contracts on Buckeye Ranch. We look upon this proposed cancellation as a further
deterioration of the Williamson Act in San Joaquin County and will take steps to
vigorously oppose it.
The Buckeye project should be rejected as it is not a proper use of those parcels.
This pristine woodland is in a class with Yosemite. It should be restored
by the owners to its original condition at their expense and an easement dedicated
to the State Wildlife Heritage Board. Anything less will be vigorously fought by
Land Utilizat'on Alliance and the rest of the California Environmental Community.
John Eil s
Land Uti izatio Alliance
LUA networks with organizations and individuals from Alameda, Atnador, Calaveras, Colusa, Contra Costa, El Dorado, Fresno, Madera,
Mariposa, Merced, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Solana, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tuolumne, Yolo and Yuba counties.
n
