LANGETwiNs
VINEYARD MANAGEMENT COMPANY,INC
San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors
222 East Weber Avenue
Stockton, CA 95202
RE: Buckeye Ranch (Brovelli Woods)
To The Honorable Board of Supervisors:
We are neighbors to the proposed Buckeye Ranch project and have met
numerous times with Dave Fisher and Bart Robertson to gain a better
understanding of the proposed Buckeye Ranch development. The project
calls for 26 single—family homesites, an 18 hole golf course, an
Equestrian Complex and a 675 acre Natural Wildlife Zone. Mr. Fisher has
Provided their Management Plan dated August 5, 1991 . Viewing the project
as a whole we feel that, with the adoption of the management plan as
Presented, the Buckeye Ranch development is an appropriate use for the
property.
The stated objectives of the project are to develop homes and
recreational facilities while preserving and enhancing natural wildlife
and habitat. While these are commendable goals, considerations are
warranted to minimize the possible impacts on adjacent landowners and
their continued ability to farm and enjoy their own property in a
country setting.
C39
All these past years cattle grazing has been the principal use of
Brovelli Woods/Buckeye Ranch. The proposal to create a nature preserve
and the removal of the cattle from those designated areas makes sense.
We believe Dave Fisher is personally committed to creating viable
habitat for wildlife. We endorse the enforcement o+ limited access to
the preserve and applaud Dave' s voluntary restrictions on his future
ability to expand the development beyond the present management plan.
For many years Brovelli Woods has been the victim of countless acts of
vandalism, illegal poaching of game, and trespassing. Because we border
this large tract of land we have also been on the receiving end of these
types of activities. Dave Fisher and Bart Robertson are committed to
ending the poaching and vandalism that continues to go unchecked. We
believe that these activities can be curtailed if the landowners were
living on the ranch.
We understand that the Buckeye Ranch Management Plan is a living
document; changes to The Plan will be proposed and possibly
incorporated. Our concerns will always be those proposals that inhibit
our ability to farm economically, to continue the efficient use of our
ground water aquifers and those that undully impact our present way of
life. The size and scope of the project for this area is large.
M-69
1298 IN ,'avant Road Acamoo California 95220 Office (209) 339.4055 Fax (209)339-9014
