ER-91-2
March 30, 1992
Page 2
In regards to energy efficiency, PG&E's policy promotes
energy efficiency and savings to our customers. To achieve
this goal, we encourage builders to incorporate more effi-
C63 ciency into their new construction projects. PG&E will
review proposed residential plans and make recommendations
to the builder regarding energy efficient lighting,
appliances and building features that can reduce a homes
overall energy use by up to 50 percent without compromising
a homes value, comfort, safety or beauty.
Our Commercial and Industrial New Construction Program
involves PG&E's review of proposed facilities to make recom-
mendations to the customer for energy efficient design.
These recommendations include efficient lighting, glazing,
motors, adjustable speed drives, cooling and refrigeration.
Many of these recommendations can reduce energy consumption
by 30 percent.
PG&E'S Economic Development Group (contact Mr. Phillip Pen-
nino at 209- 942-1730) will meet with the developers to dis-
cuss energy efficient designs, clean air vehicles and elec-
tric and natural gas distribution systems.
We hope these comments assist you in preparing the FEIR.
Please feel free to contact our representatives or myself at
(209) 942-1419 .
Sincerely,
G. A. Palermo
Land Agent
GAP:gp
cc: Phil Pennion
III-78
