AST Configuration & age of AST Horizontal AST Single wall poly/approx 3 yrs old(02/2017)
1a. Useful Life Remaining of AST AST has approximately 27 years of remaining life (Subsection 0-00)
2. AST Primary vessel construction(describe) 300 gals/Waste Coolant/No ID Plate/Unlisted Container/Made
to Snyder Industries construction standards through rotational molding process and was constructed with
High Density Linear Polyethylene(HDLPE)resin to at least.6.Omm.poly thickness per chemical storage
tanks,suitable for containing waste coolant.
3. AST piping(describe) Beneath drip pan is 2 inch steel pipe with butterfly valve,to 2 inch flex hose,to 1 Y2
in. Type 1,Sch.40 PVC pipe from temporary containment waste coolant drip pans to the top of the tank for
product supply. The temporary containment drip pans are affixed to the steel vehicle lifts and are on
articulating arms to allow for movement and placement beneath the vehicles. The operation which is the
waste coolant tank removal and filling aspect of the waste coolant removal from a vehicle is a gravity feed thru
the PVC pipe into the top of the Waste Coolant Tank which is sitting in a steel containment berm.Filling of
the tank is a manual operation via the operation of the butterfly valve to release product from the drip pan to
the tank.
4. Internal/External pump description Filling of the AST is achieved via gravity feed from the temporary
containment drip pans thru the piping to the connection of pipe to the tank. All filling of the Waste Coolant
tanks is accomplished by gravity in connecting the articulating containment rip pans to the supply lines for the
waste coolant tanks. When the butterfly valve beneath the drip pan is opened, filling of the waste coolant
tank occurs via gravity feed. There are no actual pumps involved in this operation. Ancillary equipment is
secured to wall or to tank fittings,& supported and protected against physical damage and excessive stress
due to settlement, vibration, expansion or contraction (see pie)
5. AST drawing(provided/drawn: source) (see attached)
6. Design Standard(ASME,UL, etc.) UL 142 -Single Wall Poly/Mfr: Snyder Tanks
7. AST foundation(describe) concrete sub-floor,Base of AST High Density Linear Polyethylene(HDLPE)
resin adequate to withstand the load of a full tank-Tank is anchored to the steel berm.
8. AST anchoring(seismic zone/floatation risk)AST is anchored,with 2 nylon ratcheting cargo straps over the
top of the tank with steel anchor hooks into the steel lip of the berm. The straps are firmly ratcheted tight to
hold the tank securely in place within the steel berm. Additionally, the steel berm is anchored with bracket
anchors at the base of the tank on all 3 accessible sides, with the back side of the tank against the steel
structure to act as a brace against movement. The brackets have `/Z inch anchor bolts set in the concrete
