f40 WELL ABANDONMENT <br /> As required by Item #5 of the Tri-Regional Recommendations Checklist of <br /> Required Data for Closure of Underground Storage Tank Sites, this <br /> section describes the fate of on-site monitoring wells <br /> Other than sporadic low concentration of hydrocarbons, ground water <br /> monitoring results show consistently non-detectable concentrations of <br /> contaminants of concern Based on this trend, ongoing monitoring of <br /> these wells would provide no beneficial information Consistent with the <br /> request to close the site, the monitoring wells are proposed to be <br />' abandoned <br /> As soon as practicable upon PHS/EHD approval of site closure, all three <br />' site monitoring wells will be abandoned according to state and county <br /> requirements California state requirements for the destruction of <br /> monitoring wells are described in documents including California Well <br /> Standards Bulletin 74-90, published by the California Department of Water <br /> Resources in June 1991, and Monitonng Well Design and Construction for <br /> 10 Hydrogeologic Characterization - Guidance Manual for Ground Water <br /> Investigations published in July 1995 by the California Environmental <br /> Protection Agency Appropriate permits will be obtained prior to <br /> abandonment PHS/EHD will be notified of the abandonment schedule <br /> 1 week prior to field activities <br /> 1 <br /> 1 <br /> I <br /> ERM 9343 50/UPRR/02/13/03 <br />
