USTEc U.S. Technical Environmental
Consulting, inc.
October 9, 1990
RECEI
Mr. Steven K. Schneider OCTVED
San Joaquin County Public Health Services NVRt7lytilE 1 , 19.90
Environmental Health Division
pERMITISERV10ES
P.O. Box 2009 S
Stockton, California 95201
RE: LETTER ADDENDUM-II TO THE WORK PLAN FOR THE CONTAMINATION
ASSESSMENT AT THE STOCKTON COCA-COLA FACILITY, LOCATED AT 1100
NORiri viLSON WAY, .ri.'C:':vi:, 0 i.IFORNIA. JOU NO. SU11054.
Dear Mr. Schneider:
This letter is to address the additional work proposed by USTEC for the Coca-Cola facility
located at 1100 North Wilson Way, Stockton, California. The additional work proposed in this
letter should be considered as an addendum to the original work plan dated August 6, 1990.
The original work plan was approved August 24, 1990 by the San Joaquin County Public Health
Services, Environmental Health Division.
The drilling activities proposed in the original and Addendum I work plans were conducted
the week of August 27 and September 10, respectively. During the previous investigations the
lateral limits of soil contamination were defined, however an additional monitoring well is
needed downgradient. This well will be used to further define the lateral limits of potential
groundwater contamination and to characterize the hydrocarbon concentrations in soil. USTEC
proposes to complete the additional work as follows:
o Drilling and sampling approximately seven soil borings to a depth of water table
(about 65 feet) at locations shown on the attached site plan. One of these borings
will be screened from approximately 65 feet to within 5 feet of the surface for use
in a vapor extraction pilot test.
o Drill to three 2-inch PVC vapor extraction monitor wells screened at intervais,
i.e. 5-25 feet, 25-45 feet and 45 to 65 feet, respectively. At the conclusion of the
test all four vapor extraction test wells, as well as any other borings not
completed as a groundwater monitoring well, will be abandoned according to
your requirements.
o Drilling of one boring to about 80 feet and constructing a groundwater monitoring
well. Following installation, this well will be developed and sampled.
1414 W. Broadway Rd. 0 Ste. 150 0 Tempe, AZ 85282 9 Bus: (602) 829-6311 0 Fax: (602) 829-6315
