Coca-Cola Enterprises -West
USTEC Job No.90054.03
Each monitoring Nell was purged of at least three well volumes of water using a
{ deconkaminated Grundfos®purge pump. The specific pH,conductivity, and temperature were
;•monitored during the purge process. All water from the purging proce.,s was contained in
{ approved(DOT)17H,55-gallon steel drums. 'These drums were
Depar►ment of Transportation
i temporarily stored on-site pending completion of the analytical test results. Upon receipt of
f
r-- these results, the water from these drums was transported to Gibson Oil and Refining, Inc. of
Redwood City, California for disposal. The transportation manifest for the purge water is
presented in Appendix A.
The groundwater samples were collected using a decontaminated 2-inch nominal diameter
Teflon®bailer. Groundwater was discharged directly from the bailer into three 40-milliliter(ml)
w, VOA glass vials with Teflon®septum caps and into one 1-liter amber glass bottle. The VOP..
vials were filled, copped, and inverted to check for passible air bubbles. IF air bubbles were
3 present, the vials were refilled and checked again. This procedure was repeated until an
acceptable sample was obtained. The 1-liter containers were filled until there was no head space
remaining in the bottle. A duplicate sample was collected From monitor well MW-3 and labeled
t MW-7. An equipment blank was also collected by pouring distilled water through the Teflonm
bailer after the final rinse and discharging directly into two 40-m1 VOA sample containers. A
field blank was collected by pouring distilled water directly into two 40-ml VOA glass sample
c
containers.
j t s
All groundwater samples were labeled, wrapped in a protective wrap, double bagged in plastic
bags and placed on ice and maintained at about 4° Centigrade to minimize potential
. volatilization of the organic compounds. Chain-of-custody documentation was maintained by
USTEC persomad and accompanied the samples until delivery to Sequoia Analytical in Redwood
y„
City, California. Sequoia Analytical is a California State certified ]..bnratory. The chin-of-
t # custody documentation is presented in Appendix B.
#y
t•
4
