Wilson Way
Stockton, CA 95202
San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD)
has reviewed the "Limited Phase II Environmental Assessment Report" (EAR) prepared
by Kleinfelder, Inc., dated November 10, 1997 and the "Former Service Station Site
Assessment" (SA) for 548 N. Wilson Way prepared by Advanced GeoEnvironmental,
Inc., dated May 21, 1998.
Kleinfelder's EAR consisted of historical research of the site to determine if previous
activities/land use may have impacted the soil or groundwater at the site. Three borings
were drilled to a depth of 50 feet. Soil and groundwater samples were analyzed for Total
Petroleum Hydrocarbon-Extractables (TPH), Volatile Organic Carbon Compounds,
Semi-Volatile compounds and Heavy Metals. Chloroform was detected at 2.1 parts per
billion (ppb) in Boring (B) 2. TPH was detected at 320 ppb in groundwater in Hole
Punch (HP)-1 and at 430 ppb in HP-3.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental conducted a Preliminary Site Assessment (PSA) in the area
of 678 N. Wilson Way site (previously addressed as 548 N. Wilson Way) where an old
gas station was located. The gas station was observed on an aerial map, listed in phone
books and identified on Sanborn Fire Insurance maps (these historical sources date from
approximately 1937- 1952). Exact locations of underground storage tanks, their
disposition, dispensers and piping were not in evidence in this report or the Kleinfelder
report above-mentioned. Analytical results of soil samples collected in this location were
non-detectable for gasoline constituents.
The investigative work done at this property was conducted using the best available
historical documents, technology and good faith effort consistent with current practices of
environmental consulting firms. PHS/EHD acknowledges that the boring locations
chosen for investigation may not be representative of soil and groundwater conditions of
the entire site. Based on the results of the EAR and PSA submitted for review, PHS/EHD
will not be listing this site as contaminated on our data base. PHS/EHD has no regulatory
authority for this site at this time.
A Division of San Joaquin County Hcaiih Care Services
