' DATA USABILITY SUMMARY
' INTRODUCTION
SAIC evaluated the analytical data for the following groundwater and water-matrix QC samples collected
on January 24 and January 25, 2007, at the Vernalis Pump Station site in Vernalis, California:
• MW-6-W-070124
• MW-6-WD-070124 (field duplicate)
• MW-7-W-070125
' • MW-7-W-070125 MS (matrix spike)
• MW-7-W-070125 MSD(matrix spike duplicate)
• QA-R-070124 (equipment rinsate blank)
• MW-5-W-070124
Lancaster Laboratories performed all the analyses on the samples. All samples were analyzed for the
' following constituents:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as diesel-range organics(TPHd), carbon range CIO-C25,
by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency(EPA) Method SW8015B; a silica gel-cleanup
' procedure based on EPA Method SW3630 was also performed on samples with TPHd detections
to remove non-target biogenic compounds
• Polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)by EPA Method SW8270C with selective ion
' monitoring(SW8270C-SIM)
Sample MW-5-W-070124 was also analyzed for the following general minerals:
' • Calcium,boron, iron,magnesium, manganese,potassium, and sodium by EPA Method SW6010B
• Total hardness by Standard Method(SM) 18 2340B
' • Alkalinity by SM 20 2320B
• Total dissolved solids by EPA 160.1
' • Kjeldahl nitrogen by EPA 351.2
• Ammonia as nitrogen by EPA 350.2
' • Chloride,nitrate,nitrite,and sulfate by EPA 300.0
• Specific conductance by EPA 120.1
' • Phosphate by EPA 365.1
• Bicarbonate and carbonate by SM 20 2320B
The data was evaluated in general conformance to the requirements of project objectives specified in the
' following documents:
• Quality Assurance&Quality Control: Sample Collection, Handling, and Analysis Guidelines;
Chevron Texaco Historical Pipeline Portfolio Sites, California,January 2006;
• SAIC Technical Procedure TP-DM-300-7,Data Validation; and
• SAIC Technical Procedure TP-DM-300-14,Evaluation of Field and Analytical Data.
=Wff a
MMOPMU w.
' From Science to Solations
