DBA Central Valley Compost <br /> Corrective Action Statement from June 19, 2020 Inspection <br /> Mr. Jason Gaitan: <br /> The following letter describes corrective actions taken in response to your June 19, 2020 <br /> inspection. <br /> Summary of Corrective Actions Taken <br /> Violation #102 Failed to determine if a waste is a hazardous waste <br /> The inspection report notes one 55-gallon drum filled with unknown contents observed with <br /> hydraulic oil sticker. The contents of the drum were subsequently identified as waste diesel fuel. <br /> This waste diesel fuel was transferred to totes and removed from site for disposal on July 15, <br /> 2020. The drum is currently empty and has been appropriately labeled. The drum will be <br /> recycled during the next material pick-up. A photo is included with this submittal. <br /> The inspection report also notes one approximately 2-gallon container with approximately 2 <br /> inches of unknown contents. The contents of this container were subsequently identified as <br /> Diesel Exhaust Fluid. This Diesel Exhaust Fluid was utilized in equipment maintenance. The <br /> container was then verified empty and disposed of in the trash. <br /> Violation #301 Facility not maintained to minimize the release of a hazardous waste <br /> The used oil filter was a vestige of the previous operator. The site has created a labeled storage <br /> container for oily solids. Material will be properly disposed during the next material pick-up. A <br /> photo of the container is included with this submittal. <br /> Violation #406— Contaminated container not marked with date emptied or managed within one <br /> year of being emptied. <br /> The inspection report notes approximately 13 empty 55-gallon containers with 37% <br /> formaldehyde labels. These containers were a vestige of the previous operator. CVC contacted a <br />
