Exposed pipeline locations will be surveyed by a licensed surveyor for location to <br /> correlate areas of possible releases with the pipeline locations. <br /> Report. Following the completion of fieldwork activities, SECOR will submit a report documenting <br /> the pipeline abandonment, removal, and soil excavation activities the Parcel 2A property. <br /> SOIL VAPOR EXTRACTION WELL INSTALLATION <br /> SECOR on behalf of the L & M OU, proposes the installation of horizontal SVE wells to extract <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons from soil beneath five apartment buildings to the south, west and northwest <br /> of the DPE remedial well field and connection of those wells to the DPE system. In addition to the <br /> remediation of petroleum hydrocarbons, the SVE wells will extract methane that may exist beneath <br /> those apartment buildings. <br /> PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The scope of work for remedial activities to be conducted at the site include the installation of six <br /> horizontal SVE wells beneath five apartments and connection of those wells to the remediation <br /> system located on the Parcel 2A property. Proposed locations of the SVE wells are shown on <br /> Figure 3. The project will consist of the tasks listed below. <br /> • Site Health and Safety. <br /> • Utility Clearance and Notification. <br /> • Access Agreements and Permitting. <br /> • Horizontal Soil Borings and SVE Well Installation. <br /> • Connection to Remediation System. <br /> • Soil and Water Disposal. <br /> • Report. <br /> Specific scopes of work are discussed below. <br /> Site Health and Safety. As required by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) <br /> Standard "Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response" guidelines (29 CFR 1910.120), <br /> and by California Occupational Health and Safety Administration (Cal-OSHA) "Hazardous Waste <br /> Operations and Emergency Response" guidelines (CCR Title S, Section 5192), SECOR will prepare <br /> a Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan prior to the commencement of fieldwork. The Site-Specific <br /> Health and Safety Plan will be reviewed by the field staff and contractors before beginning field <br /> operations at the site. <br /> Utility Clearance and Notification. Prior to drilling, SECOR will mark the location of each soil <br /> boring and use a private utility locator to clear each location. Underground Service Alert(USA)will be <br /> called to allow the local underground utility companies to identify the location of any utilities in the <br /> area of the proposed work and as-built plans of the apartment buildings will be obtained and reviewed <br /> to avoid underground utilities located beneath the apartment buildings.
