Solvent and cutting fluid
Here at LFW we use solvent for cleaning/ wiping down surfaces the shop. Cutting fluid is to assist
in the fabrication of a metal part.
Used Solvent and cutting fluid
If we do have waste solvent or cutting fluid the proper procedures is to:
-Drain into a 5 gallon bucket and label with a Hazardous Waste Label. Please write the
date on the accumulation line of the label or notify the office so that it can be properly done.
Used Shop Rags
Around the shop we use shop rags to help keep the work environment clean. Because our rags
contain oil we must dispose of them properly in the USED SHOP RAG receptacle located in the
machine room. At the end of every work shift you are responsible for the rags in your work area.
Please gather your rags and dispose of them in the proper receptacle
Ground Water Drain
There is (1) one ground water drain located in the center of the yard. We need to be very careful
when it comes to spills and ground contamination.
If there is a spill, and it might come in contact with our ground water drain, the proper procedure
is:
-Use floor absorbent and shop rags to prevent the spill from entering into
the ground water drain.
If you are not able to contain the spill and prevent ground drain contamination please notify the
office so that we can contact The Environmental Health Department.
mm
Rachelle D.
