r
® Del Monte Foods, USA
mill I ft,
Plant No. 33
$w P.O. Box 30190
Stockton, CA 95213-0190
(209) 466-9011
January 12,2000
Mr.Robert Lopez
County of San Joaquin
Office of Emergency Services
Room 610,Courthouse
222 East Weber Avenue
Stockton,CA 95202
Dear Mr.Lopez:
Enclosed is a copy of Del Monte Foods,Plant#33's HMMP for the year 2000. There have been some
changes made to the plan,as well as the personnel. Changes to the Chemical Inventory listing are included
on the enclosed disk along with changes in personnel on the HMMP itself. Additionally,I have listed
major changes to our plan below.
1. The Environmental Compliance Manager has been changed from David Squaglia to John Palombi.
(Mr. Squaglia has been transferred to the Modesto facility)
2. The Roe 1 Warehouse,account#6371,is no longer leased by Del Monte, and has reverted back to the
owners,Legacy.
3. Two new chemicals have been added to the Chemical Inventory list. The first chemical is BacticideO,
which is a 12.5%Sodium Hypochlorite solution used for process water sanitation. The second
chemical is Trexcide®,which is a 39% Sodium Bromide solution used for cooling tower treatment.
4. The Fruit Cocktail operation has been moved from the Stockton#33 facility to the Modesto facility.
This move has resulted in the elimination of many of the hazardous chemicals stored in that facility.
The bulk storage tanks are still included on the site map,but are in the process of being emptied.
With the closure of the Roe#1 warehouse, our HMMP plans submitted are down to 3:the
Peach/Continuous plant,94680;Disco Warehouse,#7254;and the Cherry operation and Warehouse#14,
#6485.
If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to contact me at(209)466-9011,ext.320. If
you have any suggestions regarding the improvement of our HMMP programs,I would be very interested
in hearing about them.
Sincerely,
 J
A.Palombi _
Environmental Compliance Manager
