Listen to a NOAA weather,cal radio or television stations for curregigveather information. <br />• Inspect emergency equip t. <br />• Plan and complete the activities to secure the facility, such placing storm shutters, securing <br />outdoor objects or moving them indoors, securing cash and fine jewelry. <br />• Ensure that the facility has been recently inspected by Facilities, QMT or Maintenance to <br />address item such as facility and roof integrity, clogged drains and roof leaks. <br />• Follow instructions issued by local officials: Evacuate immediately if instructed by local <br />officials or the SHC Crisis Management team. <br />• Elevate merchandise onto pallets (3 high), into racking or to the 2nd level of the facility if <br />possible. <br />• Installing hurricane shutters or plywood to protect glass windows and entrance/exits points <br />• Sandbag entrances, docks, interior electrical room and emergency exits <br />Facilities <br />• Inspect and clear drains <br />• Inspect roofing materials <br />• Ensure the HVAC equipment is properly secured to the roof <br />• Address identified water leaks in the units <br />During an Event <br />• If allowed to shelter in place, listen to a NOAH weather, local radio or television stations for up <br />to date weather information. <br />• Close all interior doors <br />• Stay indoors and rake refuge in an interior location, closet, or hallway on the lowest level <br />away from glass. <br />• Lie on the floor under a table or another sturdy object. <br />• Ensure a supply of water for sanitary purposes such as cleaning and flushing toilets. <br />• Avoid using the telephone, except for emergencies. <br />• Be alert for tornadoes, which can happen during a hurricane and after a hurricane moves <br />through an area. <br />• A hurricane can be deceptive and appears that it storm is over but is actually the "eye". This <br />means that the worst part of the storm is still coming after the eye passes over and winds <br />blow from the opposite direct. <br />• Reassure associates and customers and think through the consequences of actions taken. <br />• Help injured or trapped persons. Give first aid where appropriate. <br />• Do not move seriously injured persons unless they are in immediate danger of further injury. <br />After an Event <br />Initial Return to an impacted Facility <br />Always follow the direction of local emergency authorities. <br />Never place yourself or others at risk. Protect people first, then property. If the facility appears to <br />have sustained structural damage due to flooding do not re-enter the building. <br />• QMT, Facilities or Maintenance must be present during the initial return to the building. <br />• <br />C: <br />
