Hazardous Materials Business Pan <br />II. Employee Training Description <br />The following describes the employee training provided for all employees who handle hazardous <br />substances: <br />1. Training Topic — Procedures for communications and coordination with emergency response <br />agencies, use of emergency response equipment and emergency response plan implementation: <br />Persons Trained: All members of management and store employees. <br />Training Time: Approx. 1 hour Refresher Frequency: Annually Refresher Time: 30 minutes <br />Training Content: The following commuter -based courses deal with the training topic above: <br />Right to Know (Hazardous Communications), Emergency Action Plan. The training material <br />consists of instruction on emergency response plan communication and notification procedures and <br />coordination with emergency services such as the fire department, paramedics and clean-up <br />contractors. Additional topics covered are annual inspection and maintenance of safety equipment, <br />proper use of safety equipment, proper use of spill control equipment, location of the emergency <br />response plan, evacutation procedures, location of emergency shut-off switches and responsibilities <br />of specific employees. Both of these courses are required to be taken by employeespon hiring <br />and annually thereafter. included with this description summary sheet are employee training <br />records indicating which employees have taken each of the required courses and the date on which <br />each course was completed. Also included is a copy of the store's most recent written Emergency <br />Action Plan (EAP). <br />
